Going into business for yourself is an exciting and rewarding endeavor, especially if you’re part of the promotional products industry. This robust market over the past five years has grown by 2.7% and saw $18 billion in revenue in 2019 alone. At Groggy Dog, when you invest in our innovative business model, trusted brand, and stellar reputation, you’ll be able to capitalize on that industry, and distinguish yourself from other promotional products businesses. But what does a Groggy Dog investment look like? What can you expect to pay as our franchisee, and more importantly, what does that money get you? Let’s take a brief look, here.
Initial Franchise Fee
All franchise brands charge investors an initial franchise fee, and in our case, it’s $37,500. But that money gets you a lot: To begin with, it buys you immediate access to our exclusive resources, which include our print and design library, our vendor relationships, our marketing materials, and our approved software platforms that make running your promotional products business a breeze. Our years of experience, and our vetting of thousands of vendors and products, has taken a lot of the stress out of doing business. So, production headaches? No thank you! You can count on the Groggy Dog corporate office and our centralized production team to deliver top-notch products on time, every time, to you and your customers.
Training and Support
Your franchise fee not only buys you immediate access to our proprietary resources; it also guarantees you our thorough corporate training and support. We know how important it is to prepare our franchisees to succeed in the promotional products industry, so we make sure you see hours of classroom and on-the-job training, and you’ll have the chance to review our confidential operations manual that details important operational procedures. We want you to feel prepared to do business from the moment you open your doors, and our experts are available afterward, too, to answer questions, address concerns, or listen to ideas. We know the Groggy Dog brand is only as successful as each of our franchisees, and we work hard so you can rest easier and concentrate on doing business.
We charge a weekly royalty fee that can be as much as 6% of your gross sales, or more, depending on how long you’ve been in business. You’ll also pay a weekly amount that represents 1% of your gross sales into a system advertising fund. These monies help to offset the cost of ongoing support services and the continued development of product and supply channels, marketing tools, training programs and systems upgrades. Lastly, you’ll be asked to spend 3% of your prior month’s gross revenue on local marketing.
As with starting any business, it’s important to do your due diligence and have enough capital to weather the inevitable bumps in the road. But we’re confident that when you compare a Groggy Dog investment to others in the industry, you’ll appreciate the value.
